Stepping Out Of My Comfort Zone

Maybe it’s my age, my stage in life, or that I’m finally feeling passionate about something that I’m creating. Who knows? I’m now feeling more confident about stepping out of my comfort zone. I don’t want to jump out of a plane or anything like that, but I feel like I can speak up and not be afraid of what others say. I’ve learned a lot along the way and consider myself to be an intelligent person, so why not voice my opinions. And I will always come from a loving space while voicing those opinions.

Lisa and I have a goal to start a women’s group that would be a spin-off from our blog site. This would mean putting myself out there and in front of other people (that I barely know) and having a constructive, positive conversation. Fortunately, I’ve always been one who looks forward to meeting new people, so I’m looking forward to our group becoming a reality. But this is one reality that will mean I will have to step out of that comfort zone.

I think most of our lives are about creating a comfort zone, which is healthy, but so is stepping out of our comfort zone when it’s time to grow, time to transition. There will also be times, like in an emergency, when you have to step out of that safe space. I feel that continuing to step out of my comfort zone will help me to deal with change and that’s a good thing. I look at change as a positive transition in one’s life to move to another level, a better level. I feel like I’m finally coming into my own and I have nothing to lose. Here’s to life…my life…and I welcome what is ahead of me!

“You never change your life until you step out of your comfort zone; change begins at the end of your comfort zone.”  ― Roy T. Bennett
