One of the reasons for starting this blog site dedicated to empowering women is to be a positive influence (a role model) on the younger generation, specifically young women. They are our future path makers. Role models have a significant effect on the lives of young people. A role model can shape the views, ideas, and actions of a young person. Empowering them with life lessons from those who have walked before them will give them the tools needed to be healthy, independent and confident. This will allow them to go out into the world and make a difference. So, creating a path for them is crucial.
It’s essential for them to understand some of our struggles. We can give them insight into the way we solve our problems. We can show them good things are not always handed to you on a silver platter….it takes work, discipline and sometimes sacrifice. The following sentence seems so true.
Resilience to life’s failures can have an enormously positive influence on one’s life.
We each have two adult daughters, and it has always been our wish to impart on them the things we have done right in our lives and also the things we have struggled with. Life is not easy to navigate, and with each generation, life becomes increasingly fast-paced, high tech and less one-on-one interaction. It is vital for all women to unite and come together as a tribe to share their different life experiences. There is an old African proverb that says “It takes a village to raise a child.” That means it takes a community of different people interacting with children for a child to experience and grow in a safe environment. All we want is for our children to grow, to prosper, and to be strong and independent.
