Perfect Just The Way You Are Now

There are a couple of things that I’ve tried to impart to my daughters. One is to always pay attention to and follow your intuition. Walk away from anything that gives you a bad vibe. Another is to be responsible for yourself and for those around you. Something else I would like to and should impart to them and others is to realize that you are perfect just the way you are now.

I use the word ‘now’ because we are constantly changing and evolving as people. I think people try to free (as best they can) themselves from all of their flaws. I find that’s too hard for me. It’s much easier to accept that I’m perfect just the way I am now, flaws and all, or as my husband says warts and all. I am constantly growing and learning from all of my life lessons. So, the person I was a year ago is not the same person I am today. I was perfect then and I am perfect now, just the way I am. It’s taken me a while to figure this out. I’ve been through so many life changes in the last several years. I’ve dealt with family emergencies, leaving a job of 14 years, and a change in friendships. So, I have to constantly remind myself that I’m okay (perfect) just the way I am now.

I hope all this makes sense and please don’t get me wrong, I am a definite work in progress. Hopefully, this will be the case for a long time to come. Changing, learning and evolving just makes life more interesting. Here’s to new life lessons!
