I read recently that it’s a good idea to write down what you consider your non-negotiables or beliefs in your life that you would never go against. It’s the values in your life that allow you to live your best life. So, here are some of mine.
I’m continually working on my well-being. Staying healthy physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually will only help me to have a strong foundation for a happy, successful life.
Keeping my word to others and myself is really important to me. It’s about having integrity. When it comes down to it, my word is all I have. It’s what gives me credibility. It’s one of the reasons why I fell in love with my husband. He’s a man with high integrity.
Surrounding myself with positive people is a big one for me. I think it affects what I think and what I do in life. Having negativity in my life only takes away from my happiness and success. Who I surround myself with tells others who I am.
You’ve heard the phrase, ‘work hard, play hard’. Well, I think having fun is just as important as working hard. So, I make sure to plan fun or downtime with family, friends, and time for myself. It’s all about self-care and balance for me.
I am a forgiving person. I think forgiveness can only bring you feelings of understanding and compassion for the one who hurt you. It doesn’t mean you have to forget or excuse what the other person has done to you. You don’t even have to make up with that person. For me, it brings peace that helps me to move on with my life.
I just want to be known as a good person, someone that others can rely on, and someone who cares. Because in the end, it’s how you’ll be remembered.
