New Normal vs. New Better

Recently, I just heard the phrase “new normal vs. new better”. What does that mean? I can start by saying that the previous normal is no longer. And, I don’t think it’s a new normal because there’s nothing normal about what we all are going through right now. Life has been turned upside down for a lot of people in this country, in this world. My mind is constantly running the “wtf is going on” tape in my head. So, I want to concentrate on the new better part of the phrase, and how I can make it a new better for me and those around me.

I’ve always thought of myself as a strong person but lately, I’ve had to remind myself that I am a resilient person and I will thrive. I have the mindset and resources to help me adapt, but how does one deal with the unknown? That’s what gets to me the most, the unknown. When will we have a vaccine? Will racism ever come to an end? Who will be our next president? When will students be able to go back to school? What about the economy? How many more people have to die? I could go on and on, but I won’t. It’s got to be about the new better and the lessons I/we have yet to learn.

I think that now is the time for me to give myself the time and space to look more closely at my current reality and work on making it a better world, not so much for those who already have much, but for those who have little. Working on this blog and building a community of empowering women has helped me immensely. I know that there’s a lot to overcome and changes need to happen, but it’s time that we all come together to make it a new better for ourselves and those around us.

As always, thank you for taking the time to read our blog. We appreciate your time and support.

  1. For me you are not the new better, but the ongoing better. Keep up the good work you are doing for your community, my sweet Love.
