I have heard and read stories about successful people who wake up early, workout, meditate, etc. All this before they start their workday, and some before they pick up their phone. I don’t know if I have that kind of discipline but I’m ready to try. I’m ready for a change. I feel a change is needed because I’ve been feeling kind of sluggish, out of it, and not very productive lately. Change is always good…right?!
So, here’s what I’m planning for myself. Since I always seem to wake before my alarm anyway, I might as well get up and start my day. In the past, I would pick up my phone and start the process of going through emails, social media, and posting. The big change will be no phone for the first 20 – 30 minutes of my day. I like the idea of getting up a little earlier. It’s time for me to meditate for a bit, say my gratitude mantra, and plan my day.
I’m going to make this a 30-day challenge for myself. I know that once I get passed 30 days, I’ll be hooked. This will become my new morning routine. It’s kind of what I did when I decided to stretch every night before bed. Now, if I don’t stretch, I feel like something is missing, something’s not right. I think creating a good morning routine for myself is essential. If I start my day in a positive way, I can then carry that throughout my day. Waking up earlier than usual will give me time to focus on my goals and start my day with more energy and mindfulness.
So, here’s the thing. I started implementing these changes a couple of days ago. Guess what…I feel better already. I’m enjoying the quiet time. I’ve been able to do some reflecting about my personal and business life. And, since I’ve been wanting to get back to reading, I will use this time to read, even if only for 15 minutes. I’m embracing this new morning routine!
As always, thank you for taking the time to read our blog. We appreciate your time and support.
