Lisa and I are moms of millennials! We each have two beautiful, intelligent, strong, and amazing daughters who are part of the millennial (or Gen Y) generation. Having daughters is one of the main reasons for starting this blog. We want to pass onto them the life lessons we have learned along the way. What we are finding is that we are learning just as much from them, especially when it comes to being tech-savvy and building our brand. We’re so proud to call them our daughters!
Today’s millennials have so much more to offer our society. In general, they are better educated, there is more racial and ethnic diversity amongst them, and women participate in the workforce more now than any other generation. They are waiting longer before getting married and starting a family. They are living at home with parents for longer periods of time. And, they are now the second-largest generation in the U.S. electorate, who will be shaping our politics for years to come.
For these reasons and more, Walking Through Life As Women is excited to announce that we will be expanding our postings to include more everyday experiences with our millennials. It will give you insight into our lives as mothers of millennials, how they have supported us, given us the courage to follow our passion, and how we find ourselves living vicariously through them. 😉
As always, thank you for taking the time to read our blog. We appreciate your time and support.
