My Dear Daughters,
There’s so much that I want to say. I hope that I’m as much of an inspiration for you both as you both have been for me. I’m inspired to be a better person because of you. The creation of Walking Through Life As Women is my dedication to you both.
You’re amazing women and I am proud to call you my daughters. I have felt this and more since the day you were born. I believe in you both and know that you will go far in life. I just want you both to remember a few things. And whatever life has in store for you, it is my hope that you remember these things. So, from me to you both…
Use the gifts you have been given. You both have beauty, intelligence, independence, strength and a gentle heart. You both light up the world. You light up my world. So, don’t ever allow anyone or anything dull that light.
Always treat your body with respect. It’s the only one you have so take care of it and be healthy. There’s something to be said about treating your body like a temple. And remember no matter the shape or size, you are perfect the way you are.
When it comes to love, I hope that you spend your life with someone who loves you like I do. You deserve someone who respects and supports you in every way. You deserve the best that life has to offer.
Have dreams for yourself. Find something that you’re passionate about and believe in yourself. But know that it does take hard work to make those dreams come true. Here’s something I read once, “If hard work is not enough, then fight for it.”
Listen to your heart and listen to your intuition. This is one lesson I wish I had learned early in life. Even though I have no regrets, I definitely would have made a few decisions differently along the way. Do what you believe is right and don’t fall to the pressures of someone else’s belief. Remember to always come from a space of love…love heals all.
And always remember that no matter what, you can always come to me. You will always have me and you will always have a home. I love you both with all my heart, from the depth of my soul, and always will.
