If I Had A Motto

Do you have your own personal motto? Something that sums up your beliefs and ideals that guide you in your life? Something that has meaning for you? I would guess that most people don’t have a personal motto. I never really thought about it until recently. Something streamed across my social media and it got me thinking. What would my personal motto be? I don’t know if I could nail it down to just one word or phrase. In fact, several things come to mind.

Take another tact — If something is not working in my life, then I know it’s time for a change.

I embrace change — I always see change as a good thing. It’s hard to see that when I’m in the middle of a challenging time, but I know good is coming. Everything will be better on the other side.

See the big picture — I always try to focus on what’s good in my life. If you haven’t figured it out already, I’m big on gratitude. Maybe that’s my ultimate motto…everything with gratitude.

Listen to your intuition — I think this is a big one, especially for women. It’s that little voice inside of you that tells you when something is not right. I’ve learned to pay attention to it.

Live with grace — For me, this means to take the path of peace, and to have wisdom but understand that I don’t have all the answers. This is tough and not easy to do especially when I feel like I’ve been knocked down. But I always get back up and I know it’s a work in progress.

I think having a personal motto will make you focus on all the things that you care about. It’s kind of like a standard that you hold yourself up to. It can change your behavior so that you can focus more on your goals. Like I stated earlier, if I had to choose a motto for me, it would be to see everything with gratitude. I’m so grateful for everyone and everything in my life.

What is your personal motto?
